40 years after disabled people began fighting for access, NUCUF is fighting for enforcement.
For four decades, disabled people have had to battle simply to board a bus. Ramps, priority spaces, and driver training were won through protest, persistence, and lived experience — not generosity from transport operators. Yet today, those hard‑won rights are still ignored on London’s streets.
Wheelchair users are being left behind. Drivers are refusing to enforce the priority space. People are missing medical appointments, work, education, and essential journeys because TfL is failing to meet its legal duties.
NUCUF’s campaign is simple:
If TfL will not enforce accessibility, then we will enforce accountability.
Through structured evidence, public reporting, and small‑claims legal pressure, NUCUF is giving ordinary disabled people and carers the tools to take proper action and to make sure that the rights fought for over 40 years are finally upheld.
